Breville – Smart Coffee Bean Grinder (BCG820BSSXL)
Who said coffee couldn’t be high tech, well probably no one. But that doesn’t mean I can’t brag a little bit about my Breville Smart Coffee Grinder! What I love most about this gizmo is that it does it all. It slices, it dices, it … Okay seriously now it’s a great product that gets the job done, right, the first time.
Breville is a great company that produces quality kitchen appliances and more. What you’ll find very special about the Breville Smart Grinder is that it is made with quality components and produces a fantastic grind, every time. Priced at just under $200 it is an investment but one I’m certain you’ll agree is well worth it.
This grinder features some impressive selling points. It comes in three colors (Stainless steel, Red, Black) and boasts 60 settings from the finest of espressos to the coarsest of grinds, should that be your thing. Additionally the capacity of this grinder is intriguing. Some of the most popular grinders out there usually have a 6oz or under capacity for your beans. Which means if you’re brewing a larger quantity it may take a while. The Breville Grinder has a 16oz grinder perfect for just a handful of beans or a large quantity. The grinder also has a special feature that not many other grinders have. This grinder is designed to minimize grinding heat which is important for protecting the essential oils in the coffee that produce that perfect aroma and flavor of the coffee.
By now you know that I like to take a look at what the people are saying. Using Amazon as a prime resource for customer reviews and community opinions I’ve been able to inform my own coffee purchases. The Breville is no exception to the positive reviews that I like to support so much on this site. The Breville has just under 500 reviews with a 4.5 out of 5 star rating. The most common feedback is cleaning the machine. Because this would be on the more “Space Aged” side of things you may find that it takes a bit more effort to clean the unit. But if that doesn’t scare you not much else will. I’ve also noticed that the espresso grind setting needs a bit extra time on it but outside of that the feedback seems to be scattered. As per all items some concerns can be attributed to user error or inexperience. Like all things this machine has a small learning curve.
The Flavor Production
As with all grinders your primary concern should be with a consistent grind throughout. A lot of the cheaper grinders out there you usually end up with an uneven mess of too coarse at the top and super fine at the bottom. This can create a uneven unbalanced flavor that isn’t really doing your beans much benefit. The Breville does a fantastic job at an even grind and helps produce a fantastic flavor and aroma, I recently ground up a fantastic dark roast.
I always subscribe to the idea of quality over quantity. And this machine bridges that gap pretty well. The machine screams quality and produces a good quantity – all puns aside when deciding what grinder you should purchase you need to look at the greater picture. Chose a grinder that will impress every time even if it costs a few more bucks than expected. You and any company over will Thank You for it!
The bottom line is that this machine is a solid choice. When it comes down to it the price versus the product is right on the mark. The machine isn’t perfect (what machine is?) but it is a quality product that produces a quality grind. Perfect for all coffee lovers alike who want to experience their coffee the right way!
Until next time, keep brewing!
